It's finally official! TheMusic.com will be handling official tour recordings as part of their Encoreseries of productions. The shows come in three flavours of packaging. Either single shows at $30 USD for each double CD, a collectors CD box for $600 USD, or the deluxe numbered road case for $850 USD. A 10% discount is available for members of the official site at genesis-music.com. These recordings are direct from the soundboard and are pressed onto silver CDs. Note: These releases are official and cannot be shared on the torrent site.
It has also been announced that TheMusic.com will also be producing an Encore series for this Peter's Warm Up Summer 2007 tour. Covering 22 shows, the shows will be available in the same format as the Genesis ones. Single shows at $30 USD for each double CD, a collectors CD box for $660 USD, or the deluxe numbered road case for $795 USD. A 10% discount is available for Full Moon Club members.

Over recent months, a couple of fantastic sounding soundboard recordings have become available on the Wolfgang's Vault site. Although unavailable as yet to download in lossless format, you can hear a couple of Genesis and Phil Collins gigs streamed to your computer. These may later be made available for sale, but in the mean time, I cannot supply you with information on how to download them.

Jackson Tape - At a recent interview at the genesis-fanclub.de
Genesis Event, Richard MacPhail confirmed that Genesis had obtained the tape from the seller (thus terminating the auction). When asked about the tape's future, Banks had told Richard that there was the intention to release it through their website in the near future - Genesis-Fanclub.de. 
There is hope and a good indication that the tapes may finally be released as part of the forthcoming Gabriel era box set in late 2007.

One question I get asked quite a lot is "What is the best recording from individual tours?" Well, there is a wealth to choose from, so I have highlighted some of the more obvious ones, mainly from a sound quality perspective for new traders to look out for. I have tried to stick to complete shows, although there are some exceptionally good partial shows, often radio broadcasts or from Pre-FM discs.

Time Goes By - Life long Peter Gabriel fan Mic Smith is currently working on a massive biographical study of rock musician Peter Gabriel. The book, called Time Goes By, is to be self-produced and will be issued in 3 volumes, covering Gabriel’s entire career in chronological order. The third book in Mario Giammetti's series focusing on the band members, pays attention to Tony Banks. Looking in detail at Tony's entire career, covering his work with Genesis, to his work as a solo artist throughout the 80's and 90's. Mario's book is, as is to be expected full of detail with a smattering of promotional and private photographs. You lucky Italian fans! 
In the Land of Musical Giants - is a new book by Lukasz Hernik containing over 600 pages together with illustrations and artwork created by Paul Whitehead. It includes a considerable amount of the authors own interviews with band members, most notably with Banks and Hackett. The book features over 60 pages of photographs and other visual materials (some of them rare), and a comprehensive discography. The book will be published on June 8th 2007 and can be ordered from
