My version of this is apparently the 'Roma, 18 April, 1972" boot, with the 'boot' on the cover. I think this is one of the finest complete Foxtrot shows I own. On a scale of 1-10 it get 6.5 for recording, but 8.5 for significance and listenability. For the era, it's one of the best I've heard from the tour. [lovesick_alien] Having just listened to this recording for the first time in months. I feel it is of excellent sound quality for its age, it captures the rawness and power of this early Italian show. As the band were improving there stage performance, definately deserves a B+. A must for any trader. [NeilC] The quality of this recording just amazes me! Whoever recorded this deserves to be canonised! A+ all the way around!!! [Bangsmith] Bluntly - if you only could have one bootleg - this would be the one I would pick. There are better sounding recordings, but the guys were just kicking ass on this one! [Speedy] I'd have to pretty much agree with all of the above. Beyond what has already been said about this one, the tape is in great shape for its age; has a very pronounced Bass presence throughout, and one dropout is present during "Going Out To Get You" about midway through. Clarity is quite excellent but be aware that distortion creeps in during the loud bits. Hackett seemed to have a problem staying plugged in because he disappears entirely a few times. Despite its limitations, it is an excellent example of early Genesis and really is a must have. [duke23] |
