Version of the show with more meaningful track separation and various fixes [Simon_Funnell] Abacab dropout in eBay version is resolved (yay!) and some basic removal of tiny digital clicks will be done. [speedy] A great sounding recording, directly off soundboard. I rate this A, because a dry soundboard feed like this will never be an A+ source in my book - however, this will undoubtly result in remasters that will blow away all previous complete or near complete sources from this tour. An incredibly valuable source. [kaspergm] Nice recording. Another great GASP to add to any colection. Recommended. [legalbeagle] |

In the intro to Man on the Corner, Phil rather callously mocks Americans and the ensuing exchange between him and an American audience member is probably the ugliest I have ever heard. The fan utterly rips into him, and Phil tries to play it off with some weak one-liners. It seems to me that by 1981, Phil's comfortable rapport with audiences had progressively degenerated into an irritating mix of cockiness and juvenile idiocy. At a time when the band was trying to court new fans without alienating older ones, I frankly find Phil's on-stage persona an embarrassment. It's a shame that on this nice recording we have to endure this extremely unpleasant exchange. [pablo] |
