1st Generation. Excellent audience recording, especially for it's time [Simon_Funnell] A truly dynamite recording and performance. Phil's voice seems to be in top form and the stereo recording adds great detail to the music. The Phoenix horns are a wonderful treat. This show, along with the top versions of Marquee 9.27.82 and Hammersmith 9.29.82 are the holy tryptych of recordings from the TSL tour. [pablo] As I listen to this recording, it occurs to me that, with this "Encore Tour," the guys said, okay, if we redid the Abacab tour set list, what would we have done. This is it! A must have for a Genesis collector for several reasons; outstanding audience recording for any era; a once in a lifetime venue, the inclusion of the Phoenix horns (Paperlate and No Reply), Phil sounds amazing. Great gig for Daryl, and, of course, the 10th anniversary performance of "Supper's Ready." Someday, someone will find a soundboard of this one and do a matrix and you might have the best Genesis live recording ever! Until such time, I'll give it a strong A and a must have rating. Peace! [jrromman] A very nice sounding recording, audience noise is lower than on Marquee, but sound is also more distorted and muffled, making this an A- for me. Compared to the Marquee, which still holds a clean A as best audience recording ever, I would go for Marquee. Of course, this one is still interesting for the Horns section of the show, and it's a nice performance, even if Marquee is once again a tad better. [kaspergm] |
