I recently picked up this version of the show because it had Burning Rope, but in terms of sound quality it seems to me that it is identical to the "non pre-FM" version on the Movement's list - some minor dropouts and distortion on bass pedals. Since Burning Rope was never aired by KBFH, it makes me wonder if someone just added the song from Archives II to the non pre-FM version to make it more complete. [pablo] Probably the best 1978 recording. G. [Gigio67] I compared the sound from Burning rope from Archives 2 to this one and it indeed seems that someone just fitted it into here and did a play with some equalisation. The balance of the instruments and the ambience doesnt fit the other songs from the recording. Phils voice is more up into the mix which is common if professionally mixed. Effects are clearer hearable. The other songs have mikes bass guitar more up in the mix where you can hear it is actually picked. Its more burried in Burning rope. So its just a copy paste job. I don't hear the effects on the synthesizers from Banks well on burning rope. But the lady lies reveals them all... Copy Pastejob is my bet. [santibanks] |
